ALASKA: Claims Hard Launch July 1, 2023 – for Home Health Providers

Therap is eager and available to support each Alaska provider with their EVV process for required services.

Providers should have seen recent reminders from the State of Alaska that Home Health Services requiring EVV are about to go to Hard Launch on July 1, 2023.

This means that after this date, the claims submitted for payment to Alaska MMIS (Medicaid Billing) will be compared to EVV data in the Therap Aggregator prior to issuing payment. This also means if there is not matching EVV data found the claim will be denied.

We want to help you get paid for eligible Home Health Services provided. We have been reviewing some basic quality assurance processes you can do in the Aggregator, as well as in your Therap or 3rd party EVV system. If you have questions about something specific you are finding please let us know, and we will be happy to assist. Finding set up or entry mistakes prior to hard launch will ensure that your service payments are not unnecessarily delayed by these corrections.

Some of the critical data to ensure EVV matches to claim include:

  • Service Code and Modifiers
  • The number of units of service documented in the Aggregator matches or exceeds the number of units in your claim.
  • Individual/ Member ID
  • Staff ID
